Before I walked through the wisteria-covered gates of Randolph-Macon Woman’s College, my approach to leadership was already taking shape. Spending much of my youth preparing for a professional career in dance, I already knew that a peak individual performance only shines when the ensemble flows together.

Enduring influence comes from developing accountable connections with others, not from exerting positional authority.

Over a 30-year career, I spent more than a decade at the executive level in higher education as both Chief Student Affairs Officer and Vice President for Student Affairs. I served as anchor and compass, providing stability during crisis while also charting the long-term strategies that these organizations needed to move forward.

I founded CARDINAL SHIFT, LLC because there are too many talented leaders in complex environments stuck in survival mode. Today, I bring my experience and training to help you do more than just get through the day. I help you clarify your purpose, align your team, and lead with renewed confidence.
